Volvo XC40 vs Mercedes vs BMW vs Audi

How Does the Volvo XC40 Stack up Against its Competition?

Over the years, the Volvo brand has solidified itself as one of the premier luxury brands in Ft. Lauderdale. Premium interior comfort, excellent performance capability, and driver assistance enhancements consistently propel each Volvo sedan and SUV to the top of its class. But, every year, there's always a few worthy competitors vying for your attention. We figured that we'd put the Volvo XC40 against some of its main competition so you can see how it matches up.

The Volvo XC40 Vs

BMW X1

It's always "a little more" when comparing the BMW X1 with the Volvo XC40. While both vehicles fully embrace their dynamic handling ability in Davie or Plantation, the Volvo XC40 has the edge in horsepower. The BMW X1 will give you up to 228 horsepower with its 2.0L Twin Turbo engine, while the Volvo XC40 gives you 248 horsepower with its T5 2.0L turbocharged engine. That "little more" could make a big difference when you're trying to merge past a muscle car on the highway.

It wouldn't be a luxury vehicle without the fingerprint of quality seating materials. The two share adjustable front seats, decorative interior cabins with premium finishes, the dash and door handle. But, the XC40 adds a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone electronic climate control, comfort seat padding, and more.

Audi Q3

The Audi Qs are impressive. Interior and exterior design are top-notch for this luxury SUV, but the XC40 will hold its own against its competition. The Q3 has modern convenience and luxury with heated leather front seats and a dynamic virtual cockpit. However, the XC40 has perforated leather seating, a panoramic roof with power sunshade, a ground-breaking infotainment system, memory seating, and more. The list of interior features for the XC40 stretch beyond the expected and venture into another path.

And for performance-well, this is where the two begin to separate. The Audi Q3 offers 184 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque in its base trim. The Volvo XC40, with All-Wheel Drive, will give you up to 248 horsepower and 258 lb. ft. of torque. That's a lot more power on the standard XC40. It's more for less with the Volvo brand.

Mercedes-Benz GLA

The two vehicles are similar in size. But, if you want to carry some extra gear on those out-of-town vacations or weekend getaways, the XC40 could be a better option. The Mercedes-Benz GLA provides a solid 50.5 cubic feet of cargo room with the right seat configurations. By comparison, the Volvo XC40 offers up to 57.5 cubic feet of cargo space. It makes a difference when you don't have to decide what you need to leave home when you want to enjoy your vacation in Hollywood, FL.

The Volvo XC40 also comes standard with premium leather seating upholstery. And, if you add a few more dollars, you'll begin to dip into the premium seating options with the Mercedes-Benz GLA. Both vehicles provide great entertainment and technology features, but what comes standard on the XC40 will cost you a bit more for the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

The Volvo XC40 Comes out on Top

While all three options are great choices, there's only one that sits above the others. With standard features that you'd have to pay for in other luxury models, the XC40 is a low-cost way to experience complete luxury in Pembroke Pines. Save a few dollars without sacrificing premium features, comfort, and performance when you get in the driver's seat of the Volvo XC40.
