Volvo Announces Plans to Electrify the Market

We all love the Volvo model lineup and the cutting-edge technology that is offered on each one, but this is a brand that doesn't settle for anything but the best. While other automakers are satisfied with offering one hybrid vehicle, Volvo has their sights set on improving the world significantly over the next five years. Adding more models to their lineup that are hybrid or mild hybrid is the name of the game, and they won't stop until they've accomplished their goal.

Volvo's lineup of T8 Plug-In Hybrids currently includes:

  • Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine E-AWD offers an estimated 62 MPGe and 400 horsepower
  • Volvo XC60 T8 Twin Engine E-AWD provides 59 MPGe and 400 horsepower
  • Volvo S90 T8 Twin Engine E-AWD gives you 71 MPGe and 400 horsepower

By 2021, Volvo anticipates having at least five all-electric vehicles on the market, with the ultimate goal being one million electric vehicles on the road by 2025. The introduction of the mild hybrid system that don't require charging, and all-electric models that don't use any gasoline whatsoever. With these advances being made in the next few years, we're looking forward to the future with a fresher outlook.
