If you’re a fan of the Volvo lineup, you may have noticed that there aren’t too many options for drivers who are seeking small or compact cars. That’s one of the reasons our preferred automaker has just announced the unveiling of two new concept vehicles, called the Concept 40 series. They’re the first to be built around Volvo’s new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), a platform created specifically for smaller cars, allowing designers and engineers to embrace bold and daring new directions. Check out these stunning concept vehicles in the video below!
The Concept 40 series vehicles are unique and innovative, appearing at once fresh-faced, bold, and new as well as reminiscent of classic Volvo design, inarguably Volvo and inarguably innovative. The CMA platform allowed engineers to build a high cars and low cars with a high degree of flexibility. The hybrid and full-electric drivetrain are now being reflected in this design. Volvo has really focused on capturing the youthful energy and attention with this bold design and it hopes to capture the market as well. In addition to its daring design and electrified powertrain options, the new cars offer a full range of connectivity services and a very robust standard package of safety features.
”Each member of our product family has its own distinct character, just like the members of a real family. CMA has helped us to capture something special, something youthful in our new concept cars. They have an energy, a disruptive and engaging urban character that makes them stand out amongst the crowd. This is the flavour of small Volvos to come,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President, Design, at Volvo Car Group
