For the 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year (NACTOY) awards, more than 50 journalists from the United States and Canada evaluated new trucks and SUVs from across the industry, in an effort to help determine the most outstanding new vehicles of the year. This morning, a press release from Volvo announced that the all-new XC90 was one of only three vehicles to make the final cut, before the winner is announced on January 11, 2016.
Lex Kerssemakers, president and CEO, Volvo Cars of North America, commented on the news, saying: “The all-new XC90 represents the future of Volvo. We are grateful that NACTOY judges recognize how significant it is for consumers, the industry, and for us.”
In addition to its suite of advanced, world-first safety features and semi-autonomous technology, the XC90 offers two engine options: a T6 Drive-E turbo and supercharged engine producing 316 horsepower, or with the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) powertrain producing 400 horsepower.
